How It Works
GitHub Push
A webhook receives push events from your GitHub repository
Commit Parse
The workflow extracts the Jira key, branch, and flags from the commit message
Task Routing
Logic decides whether to open a PR or just sync the Jira issue context
PR Creation
When requested, a new GitHub pull request is created with the mapped branch data
Jira Update
The Jira issue is updated with the new delivery status and supporting context
Frequently Asked Questions
Does this create pull requests automatically?
Yes, if the commit message includes the auto-pr flag and a base branch. Otherwise it only updates Jira context.
What happens if the commit message is invalid?
The workflow stops early with a clear error so bad updates do not reach Jira or GitHub.
Which Jira fields can I change?
You can remap the issue key, summary, and status fields in the update nodes to fit your board.
Do I need GitHub Apps?
No. A standard GitHub API credential and Jira access are enough for the template.
